Description

Short story:

In December 1939, the KV-1 was officially adopted by the Soviet troops; it was followed by the KV-2, a heavier design based on the KV-1 chassis but upgraded to a 152 mm howitzer with the intention of breaking through enemy strongholds; to accommodate the larger gun, the KV-2 was given an exceptionally tall turret. About two hundred were produced, and deliveries to the army began in July 1940. The following June, Nazi Germany invaded and the KV-2, after many failures, took part in the Soviet resistance against the invaders, using a 152 mm gun and of impressive size. survivability for amazing feats, helping to hold back the tide.
